Great exercise but it has little or nothing to do with yoga.

    • By scarface2045, December 23, 2009 @ 9:03 pm

not bad. i never really thought of using a belt to help stretch.

I hope that people go to real life yoga lessons with an authorised professional. Look for the 200 Hour Standards which is issued by Yoga Alliance. This guy does the shoulder stretch in the lotus pose just to show of. This is like trying to run a marathon at the same time as you are writing a novel. The lotus pose is one thing and the arm stretch is another. search for “Cow Face pose” if you want a good stretch for the shoulder . I am 100 % sure you can improve your jiu jitsu with yoga.

      yoga & jiu-jitsu,tudo a ver.

Why would anyone pay $50 for a dvd which shows a form of yoga which is as standard as ashtranga? Go to walmart and get a video for $15

    • By hekoka, August 21, 2010 @ 2:33 am

it is ridiculous and downright nefarious how these “bloodsuckers” attempt to rob you blind of your hard earned cash. $50 dollars for a dvd which costs $2. i would guess in the USA it probably costs around $5 to attend a yoga class in your local sportscentre. for that price you could get 10 classes under the supervision of a qualified instructor then you could go home and practice on your own for free.

@hekoka Post your address, I will send you a copy

You should find a hot chick to demonstrate these poses in the smallest possible bikini (optional, of course) and use better lighting and a higher definition camera.

I tried those advanced versions just now, but in a standing position. So I have a question. Do you think it is necessary to sit in order to real full benefit from these stretchings?

    • By br0d, January 5, 2011 @ 11:25 pm

@hekoka A bloodsucker attaches to you without your consent, this is called “capitalism.”

Maybe I happen to think it’s ridiculous that you earn your hourly wage, instead of half as much. Oh wait, that’s an indepedent agreement between you and your employer, and so it’s none of my business. Much like the independent agreement between a maker of a DVD product and a customer who agrees on the proposed value and cost of exhange.

I’m sorry you’re poor, but that’s not the world’s problem.

    • By hekoka, January 6, 2011 @ 12:35 am

@br0d who are you sweety? some lawyer? or just a d-rider?!
you assume im poor and you dont even known me. you dont have to be poor to realise that somebody is attempting to rip people off. you dont even know how i make my money? control your verbal diarrhea!
and im pretty damn sure that not many people are agreeing to pay $50 for a dvd that costs $10! perhaps you are stupid enough to pay such a price but most of us aren’t.

@hekoka *sigh* ok…do you know business works (PROFIT)? No idiot would sell something for less then it takes to make it. It’s not only the physical dvd they’re selling, it’s their time and effort, please try to understand that. And as for your yoga class……dvds are for people who want to exercise when they want, and don’t want to drive all the way over to the gym to attend a class that has a set schedule. If this is not for you, then don’t buy it and attend your classes. Simple as that

    • By hekoka, January 22, 2011 @ 6:55 pm

@Hayashirice911 i live in the “real world” where people work hard for cash and where $50 is not an insignificant amount of money! you speak of time, effort and profit well hollywood studios splash millions but still they sell their films on DVD for $20. this gentleman made the video at the comfort of his dojo which anybody how knows yoga could make in a few evenings.
you go to classes a few times learn from an instructor first hand and then do it where ever you wish to do it dojo, home, park…

    • By Hayashirice911, January 22, 2011 @ 10:58 pm

@hekoka No shit you can do yoga wherever and whenever you want, I was talking about where you LEARN to do yoga. So, just because it is in the comfort of his gym, that means that they did not put any effort and time into it at all? That’s bullshit. If you think that it is overpriced and can’t afford it, THEN DON’T BUY IT. If people can afford it, but don’t want to go to a gym then they can buy this DVD IF THEY WANT TO.
You have no right to bitch about prices if you don’t buy one.

    • By hekoka, January 22, 2011 @ 11:59 pm

@Hayashirice911 is it wrong to point out when somebody is trying to rip you off? sorry you got offended!
your emotional blabber is nonsensical. you want to learn yoga properly then go get first hand instruction from trained yogi. i do yoga, apparently you dont. many exercises involve subtle exercises which if done incorrectly lead to injury. you’re not learning to play the piano here matey. you pay a one month $30 fee and learn the basics then go do it in the park or in the bathtub. J chriiisst

    • By Hayashirice911, January 23, 2011 @ 3:42 am

@hekoka Ok, so you remember every single thing that you learned in yoga class and can recall anytime you want to FROM ONE MONTH? Why do you think people take pictures? So that they can recall things that they did. If you forget how to do something, then you can just go back and watch the dvd(you get to keep it dur)
You’re missing the most important part. NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO GO TO A FUCKING GYM. J chriiisst
And if you go to a gym and take yoga, why are you even here?

    • By hekoka, January 23, 2011 @ 7:02 am

@Hayashirice911 you amaze me? you cant learn everything about YOGA in a month, not even 10 years. you need the strong fundamentals taught to you by a seasoned instructor. as another guy pointed out the “instructor” here is making some very basic mistakes. i remember the exercises because i do them repeatedly lol is that difficult for you to understand?!

im here because i used to train BJJ and i came across this video and sadly discovered that people are being fooled yet again which is sad!

    • By Hayashirice911, January 23, 2011 @ 6:39 pm

@hekoka you amaze me to. SOME PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO GO TO GYMS, SO THEY BUY DVDS, is that too difficult for you to understand?
Whatever, I’m not even gonna bother answering anymore.

    • By hekoka, January 23, 2011 @ 6:48 pm

@Hayashirice911 man now im convinced there is something wrong with you. i keep repeating that you can’t learn yoga from sitting on your living room couch and teaching yourself with instructions given by a man who pretty much seems like a novice himself. since you are dumb enough then go buy a dvd that costs $50. they love people live you in fact go buy this dvd and you will turn into buddha himself. Nike has a really cool commercial thats just come out go check it out

    • By Hayashirice911, January 24, 2011 @ 6:04 am

      @hekoka Ok I know I said I wouldn’t respond…but I didn’t buy the dvd, nor do I plan to buy it.

    • By hekoka, January 24, 2011 @ 6:27 am
